"I Love" Sundays v.79

Hello Dreamers!!
Happy Sunday to you all.

** I finished 3 pocket letters this week while Lee was gone. Now I just need to write the letters and then mail them off. I am pretty excited about swapping pocket letters with some of the most creative ladies I have the fortune of "knowing" through the internet.

Random question:  are you guys enjoying my crafting posts here on the blog?

** Lee came home from the field on Thursday (yay!). It was a super rainy week where we live so I felt really bad for him having to be out in the field all week.

** I started and pretty much finished the show Quantico on Netflix! While the show is a little confusing because it switches between the two timelines, I still really liked it. I can't wait to finish watching it!

** Lee and I bought a new tv yesterday! I am super excited about the new tv. I've had our old one since 2012 and it survived the move to/from Germany. During the move to Germany, because it didn't have an actual shipping box (the movers made one out of cardboard) it was damaged and it had two white lines running down the screen. Lately it has really started to bother us when we're watching tv so we decided to get a new one. Let me just say that this new tv is cheaper then the tv it's replacing.... and it's a 4K tv. It's an off brand, but the quality and sound is amazing. We're pretty sure that we aren't going to need a sound bar like we originally thought.

** We have band practice today, which is something we haven't had in over a month or so. We've had a lot of back to back shows and no time for practice (especially because I was so sick last weekend). They really need the practice time and thankfully we're doing it at Roger and Cheyanne's house, where we are more productive vs. doing it at a friend's music shop. It takes wayyyyy too long to get set up at the shop and by then everyone is so annoyed we hardly get anything done. Thankfully today they got quite a bit done, despite the weather making everyone feel a little slow and sleepy. It's nice to have a productive practice.

** Now that I have a better camera to take videos with I am working on recording some new crafting videos for YouTube. I am pretty excited about that! Speaking of, have you seen my latest video that I posted on YouTube? Where I show off my first pocket letter I've made and show you how I made my favorite card? If not, you should check it out here!

** I talked to one of my clients briefly today about whether or not she wanted to keep using my virtual assistant services and she didn't even hesitate to tell me yes. YAY! We're talking tomorrow to discuss payment and duration of her using my services, plus another task that she wants me to complete. I love the fact that she didn't even hesitate to say that she wanted to use me again. It makes my heart happy!

"I Love" Sundays v.77

Happy Sunday dearest Dreamers!

I hope this post finds you well!

** It's been a busy week around the Dreamer house this week. Since I had a week off from school between Summer II ending and Fall starting this coming Tuesday, I tried to get a lot of work done for my new business as well as this blog.

I know I've been failing you all here, and I'm not sure who even still reads this blog, so today I decided that I am going to (finally) do better and focus a lot more on blogging.

If you hadn't guessed from the different graphic above, I am working on some new graphics for the blog as well as rebranding the whole thing entirely. Long story for a separate post (I know... I always say that and forget the separate post....)

** Speaking of my new business, I have a client who has agreed to work with me starting on 01 September for at least a month! Super excited there.

** Today I went to Michaels to help Lee look for something he needed... needless to say, I can't wait until I get my disability and housing money because once the bills are all paid, I am going to get some of their Halloween stuff early before the price goes up!

** I've been working on a gift for Lee, which he is getting tomorrow, and I can proudly say that the entire project is complete (well... up to this point it is complete). It's kind of an ongoing project that can be added too as time goes on. Either way... I am finally caught up and it is ready for him for tomorrow.

** I got some work done this week to add to my services portfolio, which is super exciting to me. People who consider hiring me keep asking for my portfolio and then decide against hiring me because it's not all that extensive (and because I am new to the industry) so I am forever grateful to be able to add to my portfolio whenever I can.

** Lee and I had the house to ourselves for most of the week. Amy went to go see her parents and Mem in VA before he comes home this week from his summer vacation. I definitely miss the kid, but the quiet has been super nice. Been able to better focus on my business when it's just me at the house instead of getting side tracked by other conversations.

** Last but not least, do you guys know Kimi over at Kimi Who? Well, if you don't, I think you really should because not only is she an awesome person, a fantastic blogger, and incredibly talented, but this week she decided to open up her own creative online business to sell media kits and other things like that! Stuff that she has hand designed she is willing to sell to those of us (ME) not so photoshop inclined! They are super cool too! Make sure you check her out and give her some love!

"I Love" Sunday's v.75

Happy Sunday Dearest Dreamers!
I hope this post finds you well!

** On Monday, I shared my thoughts about the new app called Pokémon Go! Since then I've actually picked up my old Nintendo DS and started playing Pokémon Black with Lee after he bought his used Nintendo 3DS on Tuesday. It's my favorite thing simply because we sit there together and play in the evenings. We help each other out and it's just something for us to do together.

** Amy went to Ohio to surprise her mother for her birthday this week and we got the house to ourselves. She went up Tuesday and then came back home on Friday since she had work yesterday. It was odd, the house being so quiet without her and the tv (she only works Sat-Mon at the hospital).... I watched a LOT of Criminal Minds on Ion this week after class. Haha.

** I aced my Humanities test on Wednesday! Well... I got an A on it.. so that's acing it in my book. Now I just need to pass one more test next week with an A and then I don't have to take the final!

** I had a discovery call with Erica about my new business and she gave me some great things to think about and work on. I've been working hard to build my business to be successful and while it's slow going.... it's going. That's a post for another day though.

** Lee and I had a mini date night and we went out to eat at this place called Mac's Bar and Grill. I've been there once before, many years ago when I was stationed here, and thought it was alright. The food was good. I ordered a Shrimp Ceaser Salad and he had a burger. Their fried pickles were a little spicy (made me a little sad because I LOVE fried pickles) but otherwise it was great food. After that, we went home to play Pokémon. Haha.

** Speaking of my new business, I managed to build a new website in an afternoon. The other one was hosted on Wordpress, which is a platform that I am not familiar with, and it didn't look as professional as I was hoping. After a call with someone from one of the groups I'm in, I decided to take her advice and switch my website to Squarespace, a website that I am familiar with. I bought my domain for $20 a year and set up my website. It's not free, but it is relatively inexpensive each month and it's incredibly easy to work on for me.

** Since today is the end of the month, I spent Friday setting up my new bullet journal in a new book! A while back I ordered a teal Leuchtturm 1917 and finally decided to switch from my monthly plan books to using this to house my collections, my monthly view, and my weekly/daily layouts. I am going to give Boho Berry's way a try and see if I like it.

** Last night we went up to see the band because a friend of ours (in his own band) had a show nearby and we wanted to support him. Taylor is a cool dude and his band, Bridge to Breakdown, is pretty awesome too if you're into rock music. After his set we helped his band load their equipment into their vehicles and then we sat around and talked for what seemed like ever. It was fantastic.

** Today I got to go pick up my copy of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child before Lee and I went to dinner at a new place again! I am super excited to read this book, I think it's interesting that she wrote it in the form of a play, but I am going to read it none-the-less.

** While we were at band practice day, Lee surprised me with this pretty flower for no reason other then he wanted too. It's the first time I've gotten a flower from him and he had no reason to give it to me other then he wanted to. I personally happen to love it!

We tried another new to us place for dinner, it's a Japanese steak house called Samauri. It was PHENOMENAL! I am kind of picky about my rice but their's was perfect. The best part? Apparently it's great left over food too... the rice doesn't dry out and the food holds it's flavor. I'll have to come back and let you guys know if that is the case.... Update: the waitress was right! The food was still great the next day! We found our new favorite place!

"I Love" Sunday's v.74

Happy Sunday Dearest Dreamers!
I hope this post finds you well.

** After being gone almost the entire first week of my newest class in college, I showed up on Monday and passed my first test with an 86. This is impressive because I missed two days of the class and that means I missed her notes. I studied what I could on Sunday night, but I still didn't have the teachers notes (she tells you specifically what you need to know for the test because she doesn't use the book). Any who- go me! I passed.

** Lee's father sent me the pictures that he took during our time at the River House in Virginia. He took some good photos and I am happy to have them to add them to my scrap-journal.

It's a little blurry, but there wasn't a whole lot of room for Lee's dad to get this photo.
The post on this trip is coming up sometime this week.
** Since I only have one class this term, and it's from 0800-1000, I got to spend a lot of time just chilling with Lee. He was still on leave from work, so I hung out with him while he played The Witcher 3 on Xbox One.

** I've also been spending my free time working on The Creative Assistants and building my knowledge base. I've spent my time making new friends within the FB groups, which is a really good thing. I've spoken to one potential client (also a mentor) and I have another Skype call with another potential client in a few hours today.

** Thursday was a big day for the band! We got to open up for Saliva (yes, they're still around)! It was kind of a hectic day at first.... but that's another post coming this week as well. The boys did a FANTASTIC job on their set and they rocked it! We gained a whole bunch of new fans, made some new friends (we sat next to Saliva's merch guy, loaned the drummer of Waking Tera a set of drum sticks because he needed a back up pair), and got to talk to the drummer and singer of Saliva. The best part was Lee's parents surprised us by showing up for the show (they said they wouldn't be able to because it was on a Thursday and they live like 4 hours away from us). That was the absolute best part.

** Lee and I came home on Friday and have just been hanging out for the rest of the weekend. He goes back to work on Monday, so we're making the most of our time off. He's playing a lot of video games and I get to spend time with him while working from my laptop on business and blogging stuff. That's ideal for me.

** After I get done with my Skype call, I have to edit the pictures from the show and get everything posted. It's a busy day for me, but it's the best kind when I can work from home.

It's Been A While

Hello dearest Dreamers,

I'm not sure if anyone even still reads this blog, and I can understand that! I've been so inconsistent with posting and it makes me pretty mad at myself. I have a lot more free time since I quit working at Starbucks, but I haven't been using it wisely. I've made promises to get better... but I haven't done it.

My first term at school flew by in a flash, it was only a month long! That being said, I really enjoyed my Critical Thinking class, and if I get the choice, I'm choosing that teacher again. I passed both of my classes (was a little worried about my Algebra class.... but I did it) which is a huge sigh of relief. My next class (I'm only taking one this term) starts on 11 July.

I took Lee to meet my parents this past weekend. There is a whole post coming up about that this week, but needless to say, it went quite well. You can see most, if not all, of those pictures on either my Instagram or my Facebook page.

If you remember, I said that I was going to team up with a dear friend of mine, and work for ourselves? My mom was very skeptical of it, but as usual she supports me. Unfortunately, our first client ended up being a fraud and my bank accounts were frozen for quite a while. It's all been cleared up and I've learned a little more from this lesson. I've met some awesome Virtual Assistant Ladies who've taught me some things, and I'm going to give it all another go.

The boys have a more shows coming up this summer, and some of them are big! On the 16th, we're opening for Soften the Glare featuring Ryan Martinie of Mudvayne. On the 21st, we're opening up for Saliva in Jacksonville, NC. That's right, Saliva! We didn't know they were coming back, but our usual promoter called us and offered us a spot on that show... and we're beyond thrilled for it! Also, as a band, in August we're going to see Carnival of Madness! We're going to see our idols play (Shinedown and Black Stone Cherry)... let me just say that we all had a bit of a fangirl moment right there!

Well... I think that is a good start. Like I said, I have some blog posts scheduled for the next week or so to kind of update you all on what's been going on around here! Hopefully, I will do better about not posting as much as I promised that I would.

What's my news?

Hello Dreamers!
Happy Saturday and I hope this post finds you well!

I know that I haven't been around here lot, but things have been kind of busy ((isn't that always the excuse when bloggers are absent from their blog??)) I know that I haven't posted since my post about my first week of college.... which is weird because I seriously thought that I did my usual Sunday post last week but apparently I didn't... maybe because I worked all day after Lee went on a training mission.

The only other post I've done so far was my post yesterday about the band's latest show! That post was even a week late, but it's up. You should check it out, and if you like rock music, make sure you check the band out on YouTube and Facebook. :)

So, the big news. I put my two weeks notice in at Starbucks last Monday, and this coming Thursday is my last day working there ((Since my two weeks notice, I only worked last Monday, Tuesday, tomorrow, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday)). I haven't been getting enough hours, and the pay isn't enough to pay my bills due to minimal hours. So I will be putting down the green apron on Thursday.

Some of you, who follow me on social media, will know that I have started a new project with my dear friend Sarah, called The Creative Assistants

This little business venture is basically where we are virtual personal assistants for people that need office help while still being about to work from home with flexible hours. Within the first week of setting up our website and getting on a couple of freelance virtual assistant websites, we already have two long-term job proposals set in stone, and the possibility of a short term job still pending. I get to work from home in my down time from school for like 10-20 hours a week and still make more money then I was at Starbucks. This means more time with Amy and Mem, more time with Lee, more weekends with the band, and not having to worry about taking off of work for shows and other events. We get to set our own schedule and work when we can, and still have time to do the things that we want (or need to do).

The band has another show this coming weekend at the same venue as last week's show. We also officially can say that in August, we're opening for the band Art of Dying as well. We have a lot of awesome shows coming up in the next two month's alone and we couldn't be happier.

Life is going to continue to get busier and we're not complaining at all. We're going to be doing what we want to do and things are getting better for me!

Much love,
