5 Fandom Friday: Your 5 Favorite TV shows

Hello friends and happy Friday!

I have been slacking alot around here lately, only managing to get posts done for Sunday. Partially because there has been a lot going on in my life and I've just been really busy. I am doing my best to get back into blogging because I loved this little space of the interwebs!

Thanks to the fact that I am going to a Geek Girl Kaiserslautern meeting tomorrow, here is today's 5 Fandom Friday post! I've even managed to schedule a couple of upcoming posts to so I stop sucking at life so much on this blog!!!!

This is kind of interesting/funny to me because a coworker and I were just talking about our favorite tv shows earlier to pass the time. It's hard to chose the shows that I will continuously binge watch though! So the topic is supposed to be 5 Most Binge Worthy Shows, but that was hard for me, partially because some of my favorite shows are new... so I bring you: 5 Favorite TV Shows!

1. Criminal Minds: This is one of my all time favorite shows! I have always been a huge fan of crime shows and I am interested in Behavioral Psychology and the Behavioral Analysis Unit! I absolutely love Peneople/David Morgan's friendhsip and I really like everyone on the team!!! I also love how suspensful the episodes are and I will willingly admit that I have been able to tell you what most of the episodes are about based on the first few minutes or sometimes even just the title! I can't really pick a favorite character from this series, because I love them all for their own reasons.

2. Gotham: I love this version of the Batman universe! Penguin is probably my favorite character because he just steals the show. I like that it's a darker version of the series. It's interesting to kind of see how they've adjusted character timelines to fit what they want to happen and I am always curious to see what else is going to happen!

3. Lost Girl: I just found this show last week and I haven't been able to stop watching it on Netflix! I got through the first season in like 2 days (only because work has gotten in the way). I like sci-fi/fantasty type shows or books and this one is quite interesting! My favorite characters are definitely Bo, Trick, and Kensi! I love how Bo is kind of figuring herself out with the help of her human best friend and her Blood King grandfather (who she just found out was her grandfather)

4. NCIS: I originally fell in love with the original series with Gibbs, Abbey, Ducky, and DiNozzo; but have also found that I really like Los Angeles and even New Orleans. I was really sceptical of spin off shows- but both of these definitely hold their own. I love the relationship between all the characters as well as the main characters always trying to save the day. It goes along with my love of Criminal Minds.
Favorite characters in the original NCIS: Gibbs and Abbey! The fact that this show is still going at 12 seasons and I don't think they are planning on stopping- AH-MAH-ZING!

5. Sleepy Hollow: This is still a newer show, but I was drawn in rather quickly. I love how they are using an old fairy tale and putting modern twists on it. I love the partnership between Icabod and Abbie and how they trust and rely on each other in their crazy endeavors!

.: Honorable Mentions :.
1. Arrow
2. Beauty and the Beast
3. Doctor Who
4. Eureka
5. Agents of S.H.I.L.D.
6. Supernatural
7. Agent Carter
8. Once Upon A Time
9. Warehouse 13
10. Torchwood

What are your 5 favorite shows or 5 Binge Worthy shows?

Interview: Jaz from Superheroes XYZ Pt. 1

Hello friends and happy Friday!

I had originally planned to post this interview last Friday, but since Mo has surgery and I was taking care of him and cleaning the apartment, I kinda didn't get around to posting this interview. Better late then never I suppose. Sometimes real life just gets in the way.

So I met Jaz through the Female Geek Bloggers group on Google+ and I love her blog. I am definitely a nerd, which you all might know by now, so I really enjoy reading her blog. She even went to Hawaii and took her Lilo & Stitch Funko! Pop Vinyl's with her, but that is the second part of this interview (which will be posted next week). Without further ado, here is Jaz::

-----

1.     Please introduce yourself and tell me about your blog
Hi! I am Jasmine Tiger 26 Years old nerd bird daydreamer fundraiser starter try new things out kind of girl. My faith, Princesses, sci-fi, shooting, off roading, comic books, thrift stores, treasure hunting, picture taking, Star Trek are only a few of my current obsessions; I mean Subjects of Interest.

2.     What made you decide on your blog name? I like it
Thank you! Well I had been wanting to start a blog for a while and my dad helped me pick it out.
I wanted a web address other than a dot com and something different. He told me there was a dot XYZ available along with Superheroes. I thought that would be great since everything I was thinking of writing about was going to be superheroes comic cons and other variables of the nerdy geeky world and thought that is exactly what XYZ is… variables. Hence Superheroes.xyz

3.     What is something important you’ve learned from blogging?
Something I have learned from blogging is be patient yet keep up. That made sense I was thinking about my answer. I have so many things I want to write about but need to pace myself and find the right time to post them. Also by keeping up as in if I write about events or movies and such is get it done; the sooner the better as there is already numerous posts and yours will be lost in the sea of them if you wait too long, by that time readers have already read what they want to read yours most likely misses the train no matter how great of a post you think it is.

4.     Why do you blog?
I blog because I love going to conventions! Now there is more than one in my life, I have so many pictures and things I want to share. I want to share it with people that get just as excited as I do and/or passionate about certain things as well. I can only discuss comic books, movies or talking about a comic con and the days leading to it for so long before some people want to tune me out or duck tape one of the two. Being able to see others get excited or read the things we have in common is great, reading about their take on the same topic has been a great experience for me. I am also in hopes that one day, the posts, or future posts and tips and things I would like to post will somehow make a nerdy friends day or something all the better.

5.     What is your favorite social media site and why?
Well it used to be facebook, now Instagram takes the favorite. I got on the bandwagon late with Instagram and originally started it for San Diego Comic Con in 2013 as I take an insane amount of pictures. I really like Instagram due to the fact of taking a regular picture and making it look like art. It is also a challenge for me as it pushes me to try and think of creative ways to take a picture, and see things different. I try to make it stand out in the sea of pictures there are today and ask how would a picture of this be different from all the others.

6.     Tell me about your favorite comic book series
I recently got into comic books about a year or so ago. There are so many I want to follow and still figuring out where to start, but the one I have managed and have the most issues is Thor from Marvel Comics. When I heard Thor was going to be a female I had somewhat mixed feelings about it, the issue came out on stands and I decided to wait and see what happens which I do not recommend waiting to buy a number 1 issue (learned the hard way) I bought issues 2 and 3 with her and it has grown on me. I was pretty excited for the issue of Thor vs. Thor which I have yet to get but I am glad the direction they have taken for the goddess and so far and have enjoyed it. I also love her suit of armor which I thought they had done a nice job on being both suitable and manageable for her and not just focusing on assets and can be taken seriously.

7.     Tell me about your favorite convention
Favorite convention is the San Diego Comic Con I have been lucky enough to make 7 years in attending and this year 2015 will be my 8th year the experiences, the free goodies, the picture, the movies, the TV shows. I have met some fun people and love the insane and craziness it offers. I volunteer their most of the time and is fun to see some of the behind the scenes action. Although I must say that the Phoenix Comicon is slowly creeping up to becoming my favorite due to the variety it has to offer and the more intimate setting it has compared to the San Diego Convention. San Diego Comic Con will always have my heart as it is in my hometown and gives me a reason to go back every year. We have had a few mishaps such as losing my camera one year with so many great pictures and the year I decided to cosplay as Batgirl. But I have forgiven the forces at hand and still continue to attend.

8.     What is your favorite geek community and why?
I have yet to find more but so far one of my favorites is the Female Geek Bloggers group on Google plus. It is one of the only reasons why I use Google Plus. It is nice to be able to share your work and find others who are doing some what the same things as you. It is nice to ask for advice when stuck or trying to go about things and being somewhat new to the blogging world it has helped. Seeing how others have overcome the obstacles, and see the rewards their blog has to offer is nice to read about as well. Helpful blogs, fun blogs, informative blogs, read every post they have blogs, so many.  Even coming across the virtual -ships, to possible friendships, and opportunities it has to offer.

9.     Anything else that you want to share with us?
Yes? I had an online fashion magazine for a year, created fan sites for bands, started a fundraiser for my dad, planned fundraising events, started blogs that died off and have done random things here and there. But this, having a blog within the nerdy geeky community in itself has by far been one of the best things that I am glad I got involved in as I have been in it for years and being able to share everything with you all. For example this opportunity thanks to awesome Jenn is a great feeling and is very uplifting to know that we can all be here to help and support each other.

Thank you Jenn for this opportunity to share with you and your readership it is greatly appreciated and am very thankful, I am looking forward to continuing our new found friendship

5 Fandom Friday: My Fictional BFF's!

So I know that this is a day late, but yesterday was Mo's birthday and the first day of a 4 day weekend, so Mo and I had plans before we went to dinner with friends last night, and those plans didn't allow for a lot of computer time (although there was a nap involved)! Onto the List!

1. Hermione Granger- So I talk about Hermione a lot, she gets mentioned in several 5 Fandom Friday posts here on meh blog... but that is because she is completely AWESOME!!!!! She is brilliant and helped saved Harry's life a bunch of times. She helped solve the riddles throughout the course of the series and is just awesome.

2. Derek Morgan & Penelope Garcia- These two are just amazing. Derek is such a bad ass agent and Penelope is just so adorable with her style and her personality. I love how they interact together and I would love to either know them or have a friendship like theirs! It's inspiring! Also... please do not get me started on my love for Criminal Minds and the whole BAU team. I LOVE THEM!

3. Dean & Sam Winchester- In a world with a serious demon problem, who wouldn't want to have Sam and Dean as their best friends! They would know how to save your life when you get in trouble and they are pretty amusing! Imagine all the things that you could learn from them.

4. Willow Rosenberg- This is kind of a throwback to an old TV show, but I always loved Willow. She was the sidekick witch to a Vampire Slayer who blossomed into such a bad ass character! She was super smart, talented, and loyal. She was always there to back Buffy up. Who could ask for a better friend then Willow!

5. 10th Doctor-  I love the Doctor, most of his regenerations included.... but I think 10 is my favorite. I love how quirky he is and how geeky he is. He wears Converse for gods sake... like all the time. He's unique.

Bonus:

1. Toothless- Coolest dragon ever.... so playful yet loyal. He has his own personality and it's awesome.

2. Olaf- despite the fact that he is a snowman who was created when Elsa's powers went crazy, he is super awesome and loyal.

Who are your fictional BFF's?

5 Fandom Fridays: Characters I'd Name My Pets After

Hello friends and Happy Friday!

I almost wasn't going to participate in this week's 5 Fandom Fridays but once I saw people posting about what they would name their pets, I decided I would go that route. I don't know that I will ever have kids.

I eventually want to get two puppies, either German Shepards or Husky's

1. Jack & Sally- As you all may or may not know, I may be a tiny bit obsessed with Nightmare before Christmas. If I get a puppy of both genders, I would want to name them Jack and Sally!

2. Lilo & Stitch- I also like the names Lilo and Stich.

3. Dean or Sam- As a fan of Supernatural, I would be okay with either or both of these as names for my future pets! I would want this for a pair of brothers tho!

4. Castiel- Another Supernatural name! I think I would definitely use this as a name for a cat! I just love Castiel! He is so amusing to me! I think I would save this for either a white or black cat, either would be fine with me

5. Hermione- I would name a female cat this! She is my favorite character of Harry Potter and I think it would suit a cat! They are generally intelligent animals and she was bloody brilliant! I think I would use this for a tabby cat though, like her own cat in the series! I think she is just a super strong character and I adore the actress who plays her! A role model for sure!!!

Bonus names:
+ Severus Snape from Harry Potter (Black Cat for sure!) I just love how his character developed as the series progressed and how Harry learned to respect him and understand him toward the end. I hate that he died, he is one of my favorite characters!

+ Zero Nightmare Before Christmas... only the coolest dog ever! I would love a ghost dog with a pumpkin for a nose. I would settle for a white fluffy dog tho, that I could name after this awesome dog!

+ Toothless How to Train Your Dragon- need I say more? Yes? ok.... Toothless is just super awesome! He's so silly but can be super protective! He's just plain adorable!!

What about you? What are some names that you would use in homage to your favorite characters?

5 Fandom Friday: Things I've Bought But Haven't Read/Watched/Played Yet

Happy Friday friends!
Welcome to another 5 Fandom Friday post, hosted by The Nerdy Girlie and SuperSpace Chick. Read it's origin story and find a list of upcoming topics.

Things I've Bought But Haven't Read/Watched/Played Yet

I decided to split this topic into two categories, I figured it would be more fun.

** Read:
1. Prince Lestat by Anne Rice- I've watched and read The Interview With The Vampire and I also loved watching The Queen of the Damned movie as well. ((I love ALL things supernatural and Vampires and witches were my first favorites)). Once I saw that she had written some spin-off's from this series, I knew that I wanted to read them all.
2. The Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare- I read her first series, The Mortal Instruments and loved the series so I decided to add her other work to my list of books to read just to see if I like them as much.
3. Social Marketing All-in-one for Dummies- I want to own my own photography business as well as make this blog a nerdy community for people to enjoy, so Social Media Marketing is important. I figured I would give this book a try
4. Fearless by Eric Blehn- This is a book about a Navy Seal. I love reading books that are based on truth in the military, and since I am already reading American Sniper and loved Lone Survivor, I figured I would give this book a try.
5. The Hobbit  by J. R. R. Tolkien- Do I really need to explain this one?

** Games:
1. Lego Batman 3 on Steam
2. Harry Potter Lego 1-7 on Steam
3. Borderlands for Xbox 360
4. Batman Arkham Asylum for Xbox 360 technically Mo bought this one and is letting me play it
5. Skyrim for Xbox 360

What are some things you've bought but you haven't watched, played, or read yet?

5 Fandom Friday: Favorite Couples I Ship

Hello friends and Happy Friday!

Thanks for stopping by for another round of 5 Fandom Friday! It's brought to you by The Nerdy Girlie

Today is Friday the 13th! Which makes me giggle a little.

Happy early Valentines Day my friends!

This week we are talking about Fandom Couples I Ship

** Jack and Sally- These two will always be at the top of my list! They are my two favorite characters and I love them so very much!

** Hermione/ Severus and Ginny/Draco- I never likes Hermione/Ron.... he just isn't on her level in my opinion and one day my friend introduced to me the pairing of Hermione/Snape and Ginny/Draco and I thought it was a viable pairing for each. Hermione needs someone intelligent and interested in the same things that she is, not just in Quidditch.... and it was kinda weird with Ginny and Harry... like dude, that is your best friends little sister... awkward turtle much? I think it's also because I've read some really well written fan fiction where they made it all work. They didn't really change Snape's personality, they just made it believable that he could love her. I'm weird... I know

** Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter-  This was just too adorable in the movies. He was a little shy around her and then she was jealous and tried to shoot him while he was talking to the one girl in the bunker and he deflected with his shield. I love their interaction at the end of the movie as he is heading for the water in the aircraft and he makes her make a promise they both know he can't keep because they both think he is about to die.

**Amy & Rory Pond- because the Doctor always calls them the Ponds since he knew Amy first! They are a pretty awesome team. It was so adorable in the episode at the hospital where they got separated and when they found Amy again she was old and Rory was mad that they didn't get old together.... it was sweet! And after they divorced and Rory realized why she divorced him... or how he waited for her for 2000 years.... I could just keep going on if you would like....

** The 10th Doctor and Rose Tyler- I won't lie, I haven't watched the old Doctor Who yet, I started with Eccelson but I know he is the 9th Doctor. I think Tenant is my favorite Doctor so far though, although I kind of love them all... except for Peter Capaldi, he hasn't grown on me yet... I still like him... but he takes some getting used too. Anywho, Rose was my first companion and her and Amy are tied neck and neck as to who is my favorite. I loved them chemistry between 10 and Rose, it was cute. And I love how 10 brought the other version of himself to Rose because he had killed someone and he didn't know what else to do with the Clone. And how Rose kept traveling back to help the Doctor...

Welp, there you have it... my odd opinions on fandom couples I ship. Haha.

.: Honorable Mentions :.
* Castiel + Dean- Supernatural I've seen a lot of shipping of this and I think it's amusing and awesome. Destiel! P.S. Castiel is one of my favorite characters because he is so clueless sometimes
* Piper + Leo- Charmed
* Bones + Booth- Bones
* Tony Stark + Pepper Pots- Iron Man
* Kensi + Deeks- NCIS: Los Angeles
* Ziva + DiNozzo- NCIS
* Penelope Garcia + Derek Morgan- Criminal Minds although they are just best friends
* Joker + Harley Quinn- Batman
* Starlord + Gamora- Guardians of the Galaxy
*Elsa + Jack Frost I understand they are from two separate movies, but I've seen a lot of shipping here and I LOVE IT

Who are some of your favorite fandom couples?

5 Fandom Friday: Favorite Funko Pop Figures

Happy Friday friends!
Wow, is it really already Friday? YAY! Haha.
I only worked two days this week thanks to some 4 day weekends since we've missed time off.

Welcome to another installment of 5 Fandom Friday (brought to you by The Nerdy Girlie and Super Space Chick

I absolutely love this topic! Funko Pop Figures have become a favorite geeky accessory of mine!

1. Batman is my only current Funko Pop figure. No need to express why this is one of my favorites.

The rest of my list are ones that I want to purchase

2.  Jack Skellington-
My favorite movie! I love Jack (I even have Jack and Sally tattooed on my left leg!) Really I just want to collect all the Nightmare Before Christmas figures! They even have Zero!!!

3. Smaug- The Hobbit
I think it's awesome that he is voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch. I also really want this one because I found a fan art picture of a baby Smaug talking about his daily affirmations and it is absolutely cute. This figure is super cute too!

4. Dancing Baby Groot- The Guardians of the Galaxy
All I picture when I see this is the end of the movie when he's dancing in his little pot and stops moving when Drax looks at him. So adorable! I am even looking into a crochet pattern to make this as an amigurumi!

5. Toothless- How to Train Your Dragon
OH EM GEEEEE! Toothless is so adorable and this figure is no different! I want to have him now! Hahaha! Favorite part of that movie!

What are some of your favorite Funko Pop Vinyl figures?

5 Fandom Friday's: Favorite Fandom Accessories I Own

The Origin of 5 Fandom Friday from The Nerdy Girlie

Today's topic: Favorite Fandom Accessories

This topic was another difficult topic for me. As I sat around typing this post I began to realize how much fandom accessories I had within my possession. I can see it everywhere I look, which just makes me giggle, and that's even talking about my t-shirt collection (which makes me laugh even more)

1. I have the 9th and 10th Doctor's Sonic Screwdrivers- As soon as I first started watching Doctor Who I fell in love with the show! There used to be an FYE near where my parents lived, and so I picked these up there before they closed. I then managed to find matching keychains somewhere.

2. My TARDIS Christmas Lights- I also happened to find these at an FYE around Christmas in 2012, and I couldn't help but purchase them for my Christmas tree! Right now, they just hang around my world map because I don't have enough space on my transformer to plug them in.

3. Hermione Granger's Wand- My favorite character in the entirety of the Harry Potter universe to be followed by Draco Malfoy and Severus Snape. My best friend and I visited Islands of Adventure in March of 2014 for my first time before I moved to Germany and we both bought wands. I'd always identified with Hermione Granger so it was a no brainer that hers was the wand I would purchase.

4. Punko! Pop Batman figure and keychain- I think I have discussed these several times already through my entire social media presence, so I will just leave you with yet another picture of them. I just love how they match perfectly except the keychain has a Batarang!

5. A signed print by Christopher Sabat- My best friend is very big into conventions and what not and has been to almost every one in Florida I think (if not every one in the state) and decided to purchase this print for me. I'm sure all you geeks know who he is, but for those that don't, he is the voice of Vegeeta from Dragonball Z, the voice of Armstrong from Full Metal Alchemist, and Kazuma Kuwabara from Yu Yu Hakusho (just to name a few). On the print he wrote "Jenn- come home now!" and even underlined the word now. How cool is that?

Some of my other favorites:
* Batman plush from Spooky Pooky Creations
* A poster signed by Ellen McLain (the voice of GLaDOS from Portal/ Portal 2) that says "Jenn, there will be cake" (from the same convention as my Christopher Sabat print)
* My "Somebody needs a hug" Gir poster from Invader Zim
* Batman pint glass
* Gir beanie from Invader Zim

What are some of your favorite Fandom Accessories?
