Bullet Journaling

Hello lovely Dreamers!
I hope this post finds you well!

I know that I have been talking about and promising to write a post about my bullet journal(s).... well, finally... here it is... I'm sure you guys remember when I used to talk about my old planning system, the one in my custom made MyDorian by Chris Bennett. I was using Moleskine inserts for different things, one of my which was my planner inspired by Jenny Penton.

I love the way that she designed her planning system, and it worked for a little while, but then I fell back into my list making style of planning and it just wasn't working right for me. It's a fantastic method, don't get me wrong, it's just... I work better in lists. I'd seen Bullet Journaling across YouTube, first I think I saw Rhomany's in her Travelers Notebook a couple months ago, and I finally decided to look into it since it was becoming so popular (or at least showing up so much on my recommended videos)... and that was it. It was absolutely history for me!

First off, it you have no idea what Bullet Journaling is, stop what you're doing and go watch this video created by Ryder Caroll (the creater of this system). It's ok... I'll wait.

Kara of Boho Berry is a huge inspiration to me. She does some gorgeous work in her own bullet journal and it's inspiring.
property of Kara at Boho Berry. Isn't she talented?

She took Ryder's system and made it her own and it's great! She's shown her own twists to the system that inspire a lot of women to try the system. It's a great way to combine organizational planning and creativity. Seriously, go check out her YouTube, Instagram, or even just her blog. She is also the person that kind of "gave me permission" if that is the right phrase, to keep a separate book for Faith and Scars as well as a master bujo for everything outside my monthly plan books. She herself keeps a regular bujo, one for her blogging and business, and a third one for another business that she helps out with. Seeing that made me feel a little bit better about how I was going to move forward with my planning journey.

Monthly Plan Book
So, this really hasn't changed a whole lot. This one is still a Moleskine Cahier notebook that comes in a three pack from Amazon or Barnes and Nobels. I moved from a blank insert to a grid insert.

It's still set up the same way, the monthly calendar is first. I've had to start color coding things in different categories so that things stand out a little bit better to me. The colors will be changing again next month since I will be starting school early in the month.

After that are my goal pages; personal, blog, photography, house, and crafting, they each have their own pages for goals. After that is my weekly spread and then I go into my daily pages. Same basic layout as before. I'll share a walkthrough of May's set up in the next couple of week's.

I still keep my scrap journal in another insert inside my TN, I haven't abandoned that method of memory keeping. I have to film a video on my latest completed journal for those that are interested.

Master Bujo

The second bujo that I keep is what I am calling my master bujo. I'm using it for collections and other things that are more long term then my monthly plan books. For this one, I am using a Moleskine hard covered black grid notebook. I was hoping for another color, but this is all that my local stores had and I didn't feel like waiting for something to get shipped.

I put a sticker on the front from my other bujo just to signify which one this is, since all of my hard covered ones are black. So far, this is the one that I use the most. I'm still working on collections that I want or need inside. So far I've transferred my Home Improvement List in here, notes about a band I like, a future log from May-July, some journaling prompts for when I am stuck, as well as some blog stuff.

Faith and Scars Band Book:

This may be the book I am most excited about. For different reasons.

1. For those that can't tell... this is one of the Official Bullet Journals from Ryder's website. Yeah... it's the OFFICIAL one. It's got a spot for forward planning, which I set up. I like that the index is already there, this means I am more likely to use it if its already there. I like how the pages are already numbered, saves me a lot of trouble. I'll do a total review on this book later on this month.

I use this book for all things band related. I've mentioned that my boyfriend, Lee, is the drummer in a band, and that I am now helping run things in the band. I run the social media, am a photographer, and I need to keep track of everything. Shows and what not. So I started this. Lee is rather impressed and intrigued by it, he knows it's because I have a tendency to forget things.

This is just a brief look at the three books I use to plan and organize my life and the necessary things that I am involved in. I plan to do more in-depth looks at my planners on a later date.

Do you guys plan? Do you use a bullet journal?
Let's talk about it!

December Daily 2015: Day 1

Hey everyone! Happy December 1st! I hope that today finds you well!!!

Today I wanted to share with you the first story in my insert (baring anything extraordinary happening tonight when everyone gets home)

For the title, I cut up a piece of blue, white, and red stripped washi tape into an arrow shape and used a silver 1 sticker from my collection. The word December is part of Ali Edwards' Storytelling With December Daily stamp kit that I just stamped on with my new black Stazon Ink.

The Keep Calm meme is one that I found in one of the December Daily groups I am part of on Facebook and I couldn't help but print it and use it in today's spread.

Since this is a scrap-journal, most of what I do is journaling.
I started today off a little backwards, but that's ok. I get to be creative with my projects. Haha

The first thing I talk about is lunch with my dear friend Kelli. I haven't seen her since shortly before I moved to Germany, and other then Amy and Memphis, she is the first person I have seen since I got back! I am super excited that I got to have lunch with her. The first page is me just talking about lunch and a summary of what we talked about.

Here is a better look at the picture that we took before we left. She is taller then me so she is kind of crouching to be my height, which just makes me laugh. The "Be Merry" tab is from the 2014 December Daily kit. I had originally wrote directly on the picture at the top but it smudged, so I covered it with some silver washi tape, then a kraft tag with cold lining, I wrote my best friend on it, then added a red polka dotted heart on top of that.

The back of the picture is just a black piece of scrapbook card stock covered in gold polka dots that I got in the RUKristin Find Your Voice kit earlier this year. I used some black and gold polka dotted washi tape to make it a tip in, then used some white thicker to write "the best" on it.

The second page is all about this morning and how Amy and I sat there after we dropped Memphis off at school and just talked. We talked about everything that happened since I left almost 2 years ago. It was awesome for us to get caught up because we both spent most of our time alone and haven't really had someone to just sit there and talk with. I mean I had friends (and so does she) but I didn't really want to bother them because they were always at work while I wasn't. Any who, it was awesome for us to just sit there and talk. I am glad that I am staying with them. I'm actually looking for a place to live in this apartment complex as it is. I'll know more about that later on this week.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out day one in my December Daily project. I will do my best to photograph and share as often as I can. Every week (just like my October Daily) I will try to share a flip through video, where I will talk a little more about what happened each day.

Let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
Thanks for stopping by!
See ya tomorrow!

December Daily 2015: Intro and thoughts

Hello dearest friends!
I hope this post finds you well!

Tomorrow starts the last month of the year, and yet another project for me (and most of the scrapbooking community!) Tomorrow starts December Daily 2015! You can check out Ali Edwards introduction to the project here and the rest of her posts about it all here.

This year I am doing the project just like I did my October Daily, in an insert for my TN and paired with my December Plan Book. I decided that this was going to be the way I did it, instead of a regular DD album, partially because I really enjoyed how my October Daily turned out, and partially because I will be back in the States but I won't have all of my stuff yet back from the movers. Carrying around a 6X8 album and supplies would be difficult and take up too much room in my luggage. I packed the minimal amount of supplies in my luggage for the project. I know I can always buy more stuff once I get home, and I will probably buy some more things once I get to see a real craft store, but I really liked how my October Daily turned out and wanted to give it another try!

This project starts tomorrow!

Here are some pictures from my album

This is the cover of my insert. It is a regular Moleskine lined insert that I covered with some snowflake scrapbooking paper, silver washi to cover the spine, and then some silver star washi to cover the side that opens on the book.

This is what you see when you first open up the insert. I have taped a calendar on the inside cover that I bought online. I have been trying to figure out where the calendar came from, but I can't find it in my email history. I will keep looking and when I know, I shall share it with you guys.

This is my own version of the washi tape tree. The star and December pieces as well as the Magic stamp are all from last years Ali Edwards December Daily Kit.

The next page is My Reason Why followed by the front of a Christmas card that I was using as a divider type thing. I need to add some more decorations to My Reason Why page, but I at least wanted to get my reason for this project written out and finished.

Will you be participating in the project? If so, let me know! I would love to see pictures or videos of your project as you complete it!

"I Love" Sunday's v.48

Hello dear friends!
Happy Sunday!

I hope you all have had a good week!

** I got my November Plan book all set up, although it's probably the plainest notebook that I have created since I started back in July! I am spending my time finishing October Daily and getting ready for December Daily! It's a lot to juggle. I am slowly working on decorating this month's book, I'll show you when I have it done!

** On Monday, I uploading my very first Journal flip through for my first journal. I started it back in June, skipped most of July due to personal things, and picked it back up for August, and finished it out with September. I am very impressed with myself that I kept up with it, and also with how it evolved from when I started to when I finished it. Make sure you guys check that video out! Here is the blog post that accompanies this video.

** So far I have kept up with my 30 Days of Thankful project. Right now, each day I write what I am thankful for at the bottom of each plan book page. When I get done with my October Daily project, I will spend some time transferring all the pieces into my little Gratitude Journal. I'll probably include some of it in my Scrap Journal. I am just proud that I am keeping up with it, even if it isn't how I want to do it.

** On Tuesday I started working on my December Plan Book, which there will be a video on later this week. I needed to get this book done 1) so I can share it with everyone and 2) I am using this book to help me with my December Daily this year. Just like Jenny uses several books for her December planning, I am using both of these books to complete my planning and December Daily documentation. I am working on saving money up to rent a house when I get back home, so I won't be buying much, if any in the way of supplies. This being said, I put together my own December Daily kit from my own supplies.

** On Thursday, K and I were invited to Eilene's house for a belated birthday dinner! Eilene, her husband Bill, and her mother Judy were all super sweet and put together a birthday dinner (after asking me what I wanted to eat) and a super yummy homemade birthday cake. Apparently Judy used to make cakes for a living (I asked her if there was anything that she wasn't good at- we all laughed). Eilene and Judy were even sweet enough to give me a little birthday present! It has a candle, a ceramic crown to hold the candle, two spools of ribbon, and some wood veneer stars! I am really thankful for people like this family in my life.

** On Friday there was a unit BBQ at work. The officers made and brought in food and deserts for everyone to share. The kids had the day off, so it was made into a family event. The food was really yummy- and someone even made puppy chow! ((This is my recipe and first attempt to making it)). I love me some puppy chow!

** Yesterday I filmed and edited the first 7 days of my October Daily project in my scrap journal! I really enjoy the project and I enjoy the challenge of having to journal every day. I don't always have pictures with each entry, but I do my best to at least write every single day. Here is the blog post that accompanies the video.

** Today I joined Amy and Jamie's class "The Creative Life - Documented" It's my one purchase for this month until I get back home! I look forward to seeing what these ladies have to share across the 5 lessons! If you're interested in documenting your life in a creative way, make sure you check the class out!

November Goals

Hey friends!

I know that we're already a couple days into the new month, but there has been a lot going on. I finally have time to share my monthly goals with you guys!

** Finish October Daily- I'm about halfway through. The month kind of flew by, so now I am just not getting caught up.

** Share a video for each week of the project

** Prepare for December Daily- use my own supplies as a kit

** Share a video of my completed December Plan book and how I use it for my December Daily project

** Read an entire book

** Pack my room for my upcoming move at the end of the month. Purge any unnecessary items that I won't need. Separate stuff into plane luggage, unaccompanied baggage, and household goods.

** Prepare car for transport- vacuum the inside, wash the outside. Need an oil change, air up a tire. Need to see if I can ship it with the crack in it or if I need to replace it first.

** Photograph Eilene's Hope Session

** Look for a place to live- For real.... I need a place to live. Haha. I will be staying with a friend for a little while, but I don't want to live off of her for a long time.

** Inventory crafts to sell- I need to make more money, so I figure I can sell some crafts to do this. I make TN inserts, photo sessions, hair bows, and crocheted little monsters.

** 30 Days of Thankful project- document something I'm thankful for every day for the month. Right now, it's written in the bottom of my monthly plan book, but once I get finished with my October Daily project, I will move on to the Thankful project.

** Scrap-journaling mini series or YT series- just an idea that I am toying with on sharing how I do my scrap journaling.

Do you guys have any goals for the month?
Blog or otherwise?
Let's share them, talk about them, so we can try to keep each other accountable!

YouTube: September TN Update

Hey guys! Happy Friday!

Two video's in two days! How's that for trying to be productive?

Today I just wanted to share with you my current updated set-up of my TN. I haven't made a ton of changes, but there are still some changes made. I think that I will make this a monthly series on YouTube, because I like showing you guys what my monthly plan books look like. I am working on a post coming up this month talking about some inserts that I am going to make, so please be on the lookout for that post.

YouTube: Favorite Planner Items

Hey guys!
Happy Thursday!

It's the start of another month. I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos about TN's, and I was inspired by several of my favorite channels to talk about my favorite planner supplies.

I've switched to video taping on my Nikon Coolpix (this is an old model... at least 4 years old), so it's still not the best video quality... but I am trying to figure out what my options are. I may have to give in and purchase a camcorder or continue to tape on my cellphone.

"I Love" Sunday's v.39

Happy Sunday dear friends!
Hope you're having a better day then I am.

Had to be at work at 0630 yesterday and this morning.... I do not like being up that early since my insomnia keeps me up until after midnight. Oh well.... tis the Army life.

** Today marks the end of this rotation and September means a month off of rotations, and multiple 4 day weekends! Yay for time off!!!

** We got two new females in this week. I was weary at first because my CSM told me that I needed to look out for them (uh duh) and luckily all three of us get along really well! I took them out to Stella's on their first night here because everything else was closed. The next day I took them to the Graf PX, which was really entertaining. It's nice having girls my age that I get along with. Maybe now, I'll actually get out and travel some more!!!!

** I started using my Canon Selphy printer (finally) and absolutely LOVE it! I started printing pictures for my journal and for my monthly plan book! After that, I decided that I wanted to create a "Big Events" mini book, and printed out the pictures for that. Now I just gotta put the pictures in my book and do the writing!

** I've been doing a lot of planning lately. On purging and using my craft supplies, getting rid of or selling some of my stuff... things like that. I want to make room and have less stuff for when I finally leave Germany. When I get stateside, I will be doing the same thing to the storage unit I have in Florida with all my stuff in it. I don't want a storage unit when I move to North Carolina. This means that there is a craft space tour video in the works, so be on the look out for that!

** So I took the two new girls out yesterday, K & N, to the Regensburg Festivle with the help of the Winkleman family and we had a blast! The first thing we did was take them on a little walk around parts of Regensburg (it helped that we had to walk through the city a bit to get to the fest) and Chris told them of some of the history that he knew about the city. Funny story (at least to me and K), the other day when I took the girls to the Graf PX, we ran into a friend of mine and some of his buddies. One of the guys in the group took a real liking to N almost instantly. Well, we ran in to them again last night at the fest, and the same kid was already drunk, and all over N, trying to get her to go on rides with him and what not. We finally walked away once he dropped his beer glass, but not before K and I almost died of laughter (like we had to lean against each other to hold each other up we were laughing so hard). After that, Chris and his son, K, and I went and did 3 rounds of bumper cars (which I am paying for today). Overall we had a fantastic night! After the fest we walked to our favorite Thai resteraunt and had dinner before we headed back home because I had to work this morning.

** Since October happens to pretty much be my favorite month of the year, I've already started decorating my monthly plan book ahead of time... I just couldn't help it! I ordered some new stickers and stuff from various Etsy shops, and I really can't wait for them to get here so I can finish decorating both September (bought new Fall themed stickers) as well as October!

** I've been watching some YouTube videos on craft room tours and then I looked up TN Art Journal video's, which led me to a couple of videos that have inspired a new way for me to create a hard copy documentation of my time here in Germany. Check out this blog post from Scrappin' Love about a TN she created for her trip to Australia! It's inspiring!

** Since 30 Days of Lists September starts here on Tuesday, there was a blog hop this past Wednesday, where a bunch of us shared some lists from the March 2011 round in preperation! Check out my blog post here, where you can also see links to the other participants' posts. I am a sponsor this round and am pretty excited about it! I can't wait to share my lists with you guys throughout the entire month!

YouTube: August TN walkthrough's

Hey guys!

As some of you might know, I have a new YouTube channel! I plan to share a variety of different things on that channel that correspond with this here blog! Here are the links to my first two videos!

The first video is all about my Glendori, a custom made Harry Potter themed notebook that I use to carry my monthly plan books and my plan book insert. This notebook goes everywhere with me, and I absolutely love it! As mentioned, my planning method is inspired by Jenny Penton, linked below.

The second video was handmade by myself and my mother, with supplies that can be bought at your local Michael's Craft Store! It wa super easy... the hardest part was being patient while I rounded the corners of some of my inserts.... cuz that took a while.

My mother is actually working towards opening a shop selling TN covers, and I am working towards creating hand decorated inserts, so stay tuned for that post next month. ((Update: You can find that post here)

"I Love" Sunday's v.38

Hello friends. I once again accidentally skipped a day in my "I Love" Series.... but work is all over the place with my schedule.... so I am a little scatterbrained lately.

** I shared a mini series about the monthly plan book method that I use for my Travelers Notebook! If you missed those posts, here is Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4.

** Today is the last day of Ali Edward's Week In The Life project. I managed to participate and document each day with pictures on Instagram as well as in my plan book. I am still waiting for my kit to arrive, so I took pictures and made notes for each one! This is my first year participating in the project and I thought it was rather fun. On Monday, I kind of forgot to take pictures (other then 2), but I remembered Tuesday and spent more time documenting my weekly life!

** I started my YouTube channel! It took me about 2 whole days to get the darn things uploaded, but they're there now!

** Finished my last piece of ACAP and am now set for when I leave the Army! Which is fantastic because I have to drive 1 hour each direction to get to the building... so no more of those trips until I leave the Army!!!

** The IGGPPCamp started on the 13th and has carried over into this week (it ended on Wednesday). Each day they shared a lot of awesome recipes, crafts, challenges, fitness stuff.... it was just awesome! This was my first year participating and I am glad that I did. I have started working on a scarf (from this tutorial) and I wrote down some recipes and other fun stuff to do when I have more time (and a clean kitchen). I look forward to participating again next year!

**  I finally got around to using my Canon Selphy CP910! And it's AWESOME!!!! Haha. The hardest part was combining photos to print several at one time. Thankfully, I have collage apps on my phone that helped with that problem! I love that I can print photos from my phone!

** Went out to dinner with my friends again last night, once I found out I was off until Monday night (stupid new shifts mean I don't go to work until 10pm this entire rotation). We went to the same awesome restaurant called Stella's that we went to for a friends going away party a couple of weeks ago. I had the same awesome food too!
