Halloween 2015: My decorations

Today I wanted to share with you my Halloween decorations scattered amongst my barracks room. This is the little bit of decorating that I am able to do here in Germany. I can't wait to be home next year for Halloween (I bet you guys are tired of hearing that from me)

I have several candles and holders all over my room. I got them all from the PX. The purple one I got last year to help Mo decorate his apartment, I just got the pumpkin shaped one on Saturday from Vilseck, the two silver ones are from the PX in Ramstein, and the large white one I got covered in spiders is from the Graf PX. 

I picked up these flowers when I went to Ramstein last month, and the two black ones and the red one are from a fest that I went too. I cut them down to fit the size of the other ones.

I love these LED skull lights that I got. They are battery operated lights.

Here is my new witch pillow that I picked up at the craft fair and my favorite Zombie yeti that hangs out on my bed with me.

These are my stuffed decorations that were either made for me or that I bought from the store. The Halloween owl was made by Rawr! is Monster, Batman is from Alexz at Spooky Pooky Creations, as is my zombie yeti and the two Phantom of the Opera stuffed dolls. The little grim reaper and toast plush were from the Ramstein PX, and the pumpkin was given to me by Eilene at the Craft Fair. The Jack Skellington and Groot figures are from Disney Infinity 2.0 for Xbox 360. Behind them are Hermione and Snape's wands.

Lastly, there is my Candy jar, my pumpkin mug, and my skull tumbler that were all bought from the Graf PX.

I bought this sugar skull mini canvas at the craft fair last week as well.

It's not much, I usually go a little more all out, but this is what I've done with the room I've got. I wish I could show you my friend's room, she put those bloody handprints and dripping blood window clings all over her walls.... it's funny. Next year I think I will have a little colored Halloween tree in my house or apartment.

I really should've taken better pictures, but I wanted to get this blog post out for you guys.

"I Love" Sunday's v.43

Hello dear friends! I hope this post finds you well.

How was your weekend?

** I had 4 days off starting last Saturday, worked part of Wednesday, and then was off Thursday through today! It was absolutely amazing! I was lazy on most of Monday and literally didn't do anything but movies and watch YouTube planning videos on Tuesday. On Wednesday I worked from 0730-1130 and then was off for the rest of the day. Lazy days are the BEST!!!

** Was contacted by my dear friend Ashes and have been asked to help her get her blog started, for which I am pretty stoked. She wants to do a beauty blog (which is a little out of my element), but I am pretty good at at least getting blogs started. I am even working on making her a blog planning book, which I will show you once its finished and she has it in her possession! 

** So last Friday, this past Monday, and this past Wednesday, K and I got to hang out with my buddy M while he was in Graf for training before moving on to training in another country! M and I went to high school together, meeting in NJROTC. We had a lot of the same friends in high school and we've kept in touch over the years, once he graduated West Point Military Academy. I saw him back at Christmas at a little party that I had, and once he got to Graf he contacted me about possibly hanging out. Friday and Monday we just hung out at the food court and then at the parking lot near where he is staying because everything else was closed after 2000 on post. Wednesday, K and I went to pick him up, and brough him down to Stella's (one of our favorite places to eat) to have dinner with C, T, and their son. Afterwords, K and I had to drive him back to Graf, were we hung out for a little while before heading back home (I had homework and it was almost midnight).

** Thursday started the Creative Holiday Planner Workshop hosted by Christ Tomlinson and it is pretty awesome! If you don't know what it is and you're interested, check out the link above for more information. I already watched the Halloween videos and absolutely loved them! I even sent my mom to go check them out (she does crafty things too). Thanks to these videos I watched some Halloween themed stamp sets from Amazon! I can't wait until they get here! ((I am annoyed that some people won't ship to my APO address.... it's a freaking NY address even though we're in Germany.... grrrrr))

They have videos for Halloween, Fall, Christmas, and Winter decorations.
I definitely plan on using some of these ideas in my own planner decorating!

** I also signed up for Christy and Cori's Creative Planner Online Class as well! Pretty happy about this because they go in depth about dashboards, dividers, pockets, and what not for your planners (to include travelers notebooks) and I get inspiration from everywhere, so I am looking forward to this class as well. I think this will help keep me occupied during rotation and keep me from getting too bored when there isn't anything going on at work but I still have to be there.

** Thursday night K and I headed over to C's house for movies and homemade chili! Pretty stoked about homemade food and good friends. I love watching The Avengers movies, the one liners in those movies crack me up every time! T and I made some Salted Caramel Brownies!!!

** Yesterday we went to Oktoberfest. We took a train to Munich (it was easier then driving- and I ran out of gas rations for the month... and I am not paying the Euro price for gas). While it was super overcrowded with drunk people when we got there at noon, we still had fun. We literally walked around for about 4 hours straight without stopping to sit, so believe me when I say I am exhausted today and in some serious pain. It was worth it though. Be on the lookout for a post tomorrow dedicated solely to this adventure.

5 Fandom Friday: Favorite Things About Winter

Hello all and Happy Friday from a freezing cold Hampton, Virginia!

Spent today walking around Colonel Williamsburg, which was kinda awesome.

Last week I stumbled upon a Google+ group called Female Geek Bloggers and fell in love with the community there. Every friday they do this thing called 5 Fandom Friday and this is my first time participating. Check out The Nerdy Girlie for more information, she is one of the ladies who started it!

Today's topic is 5 Favorite Things about Winter.

1. Warm Blankets- I absolutely dislike, borderline hate being cold. It doesn't help that I already can't regulate my body temperature well anymore, so being cold is no fun.... I do a full body shiver and am pretty useless at that point. I love curling up under warm blankets.

2. Cuddles- even better then warm blankets are warm blankets and cuddles with that someone special. :) Absolutely FAVORITE thing. Especially since I've been here in Virginia.

3. Hot chocolate- My favorite warm beverage. When I visited my older brother in Massachusetts when I was 16, we went to this little hot chocolate place that introduced me to adding whipped cream, white chocolate pieces, and chocolate syrup.... can we say yum?!?!?! Like super yum! There is also a kind that I found at Walmart while I lived at Fort Bragg that has a flavor of hot chocolate called Arctic White (I think it's like Land o' Lakes or something like that, but I won't know until I get home to check).

4. Scarves- Whoever came up with the idea of scarves is an absolute genius. These things have become super wonderful in my life, haha. I have two infinity scarves and a pretty silver one that is a regular scarf. I love them!

5. Decorations- To me, living in Texas and Florida until I was 18, Winter season correlated directly with Christmas and decorations. I love seeing the pretty lights and the creative way people decorate their homes to celebrate the holiday season.  I love that stuff!

"I Love" Sundays v.9

Happy Sunday everyone!

** One week until  I go on leave and head to the states for 3 whole weeks! I will be visiting family in Florida, and am looking forward to the warm weather!

** Got some pictures printed finally for my December Daily album! I need quite a few more pictures and printables, but I didn't want to kill my friend's ink because they like to tell me how expensive it is! I gotta wait until I get to the states to get the rest of the pictures printed out! And then I can actually post pictures of our album!

** I celebrated my friend's birthday at the Stuttgart Christmas Market, which was pretty cool. I got to hang out with some friends I haven't seen in a while too! It was my second christmas market that I have been too. The next day I went back to the Esslingen one from last weekend and actually got some good pictures from that day!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends. Although I always know the things or people that I am grateful for, I wanted to take some time today to share that list and my rambles that go with it!

I'm thankful for a lot this year, mostly my family Mom, Dad, younger brother Jay, older brother Jr, sister-in-law Mi, Nephew Little M, Niece K, my newest nephew H, and younger sister Mak. I've got some of the best family, always so supportive of my choices. Although we're spread across three states and two countries, we're still pretty close. We don't talk a whole lot except for random FB messages between me and Momma, but I couldn't have asked for a better family! I won't lie, Jr is part of the reason that I joined the military (although he is a Marine) because I always looked up to him. My dad was in the Army in his younger years and he did some cool stuff! The military runs in my blood!!

My second family Momma B, Daddy B, "big sis" Lea, "sis" Linz, and "little sister" Munchkin, and the two nieces S and S! These guys might as well be my family for all the years that Linz and I have been friends. We met in Chorus in middle school and have pretty much been inseparable since. We're only a few months apart and we are wayyy too much alike. She is my bestie!

My family in Germany! Being a part of the military takes you away from your family for long amounts of time (haven't seen my family since March of this past year and won't see them until the end of December this year) and so the people you meet in the military kind of become your family. I met the C family about two years ago after my deployment and they pretty much adopted me as the sister/daughter of the family. They always take care of me and feed me and it is just by luck that we got stationed only two hours apart in Germany! And the new friends that I have met through them! Momma C asked me to come celebrate Thanksgiving with them and  I couldn't pass it up! Good friends, good family, and good food!

I am also thankful for my friends both in the military and outside of the military. I take things from everyone I meet, personality traits and life lessons and they help make me into the person I am. I'm thankful for my awesome coworkers who've turned into friends that look out for each other and help make the best of our situation at work. I am thankful for the friends from my younger years that have stuck around and keep in touch. I'm thankful for my new friends as well (even if one is 17 years old). The people we keep in our lives are what makes things better.

I'm thankful for the battle buddies who've paid the ultimate sacrifice and are no longer walking on this earth. Those guys and gals are the real heroes in my eyes. I am thankful to have served with them or after them, and hope that I can make people as proud of me as these battle buddies have made me of them. Also thankful for their families who have to live on after they're gone. We Soldier's aren't much without our families that stand behind us and support us.

Happy Halloween

Hello everyone, Happy Friday and Happy Halloween!

This just happens to be my favorite day of the year, although I never really knew why. The song "This is Halloween" from Nightmare Before Christmas keeps playing through my head.

I worked all day, didn't get to change into my "costume" until part way through the day because I had new people to in process. I originally wanted to be Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas (ok, so I may be a little bit obsessed with that movie) but decided not to walk around covered in blue paint. Instead I dressed up as a female Bruce Wayne since I am also obsessed with Batman. I forgot to get a picture of my full costume.

I did however, get a picture with this awesome little Hulk.

A couple of coworkers of mine and I went to dinner in a nearby town of Regensberg. We went to this cool place for dinner that apparently had some awesome beer (I don't drink beer so I didn't partake, AND I was the DD (without the driving) for the night) After that we headed to a cool Irish bar that we've visited before during our last trip to Regensberg and the guys bought two rounds of Kulsh beer.

It was a fun night out with two of my coworkers. Tomorrow, we celebrate my 23rd birthday.

Autumn Favorites

Hello all and happy Hump Day!

I was reading this post from The Nerd Nest about her Fall Favorites, and it inspired me to share what I like most about fall.

Growing up in central Florida, I can't recall much about fall (and talking to my mother today she told me it was 82 degrees today.... where as its 42 degrees here in Germany), and it wasn't until I moved to Fort Bragg, North Carolina that I really got to experience fall, although it is still nothing like Germany.

🇩🇪 Trees- I love the changing colors of the leaves on the trees. All the beautiful reds, oranges, yellows, and browns. It makes my heart happy to see. I can't wait to pull out my camera and take some pictures of the beautiful colors.

🇩🇪 Sweater Weather- I may not be a fan of cold weather, but it is kinda nice to have the crisp wind blow through your hair and across your face. It also means its SNUGGLE TIME. I love an excuse for wearing either my new grey dressy jacket or my fuzzy zip up hoodie and fuzzy socks is always a plus too.

🇩🇪 Halloween- Which happens to be my most favorite of holidays of the year! I'm not sure why, but I have always loved the holiday, and not just because people pass out candy to children in costumes. I love decorating wherever I live for Halloween, the pumpkins, bats, ghosts, and witches! Costumes are fun as well, this year I plan on dressing up as a gender bend Bruce Wayne with a Batman shirt underneath.

🇩🇪 Scents- I love good smelly stuff, and candles are no exception. I love the spiced apple, apple cinnamon, or pumpkin spice scented candles the most, and fall is definitely when those smells are most prevalent in my home.
